Perspective of An Bien – Rach Gia bridge
An Bien – Rach Gia bridge project is executed based on Resolution No. 185/NQ-HDND dated 28 December 2023 of the People’s Council of Kien Giang province regarding the policy on the investment in construction of bridges on the coastal road connecting An Bien and Rach Gia city.
The Project is implemented with the aim at step by step completing the coastal road in the Mekong Delta Region, enhancing the inter-region connection of Rach Gia city, An Bien district and Ca Mau province. When completed, the work will help reduce the traffic pressure on current roads, especially in Minh Luong town and the Cai Be – Cai Lon coastal corridor. At the same time, the Project will create a driving force for widening the urban space and promoting the socio-economic development of Rach Gia city, An Bien region and the whole Southwest region.
Perspective of An Bien – Rach Gia bridge
An Bien – Rach Gia bridge is a special-class bridge with huge investment scale. The total length of the bridge is about 3.5km. The project consists of following work items:
- Bridge over the main river of about 1.4395 km long (up to the abutment end)
- Bridge over a river branch to Rach Gia side of 0.1552 km long.
- Road part: About 0.291 km to An Bien side; About 1.170 km (including retaining wall) on the planned island; and about 0.443 km (including retaining wall) to Rach Gia side.
The starting point is located at Km0+000 at the intersection with station Km11+500 of the coastal road connecting Kien Giang province with Ca Mau province in Tay Yen commune, An Bien district. The ending point of the project is located at Km3+500 at the intersection of Ba Thang Hai road and Nguyen Quang Hon road (Rach Gia city).
VNCN E&C performs main work items including:
- Construction of auxiliary site No. 1;
- Construction of bored piles, pier foundations, arch foundations from pier T8 to pier T11 and structures of span 8 and span 9;
- Construction of finishing works of the bridge.
The work is designed to have a modern span structure fulfilling high-tech requirements for a special-class bridge work.
