Ngoc Hoi bridge and approach roads at both sides construction investment Project is one of the 10 major infrastructure projects in Hanoi. The Project has been commenced on August 19th, 2025 on the occasion of greeting the 80th anniversary of the National Independence Day (02.09.1945 – 02.09.2025). Ngoc Hoi bridge Project belongs to group A, is a special-class works, a significant project which the Leaders of the Central Party and the Government pay special attention and instruct to launch soon in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Capital.

The total investment of the Project is about 10,198 billion VND funded by the Hanoi city’s budget and the Central State budget.  

Ngoc Hoi bridge construction project has a total length of about 7.5km, of which 5.2km in Hanoi and 2.3km in Hung Yen province. The starting point connects with Ring Road No. 3.5 section Phuc La – Van Phu towards Phap Van – Cau Gie in Thanh Tri commune, Hanoi. The ending point connects with Ring Road No. 3.5, at 700m from Ta Hong dike towards Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway in Van Giang commune, Hung Yen province.

The main bridge from pier T40 (Km1+677.825) to pier T43 (Km2+359.025). It is designed to be a double-plane cable-stayed bridge with span outline (165+350+165)m, total length L= 680m. The width of main bridge inside two parapet edges is 32.3 meters. The total breadth of the bridge including the cable anchorages is 38.3 meters ensuring 06 motorized lanes and 02 mixed lanes.

The approach bridge in Thanh Tri district: The bridge flyovers Huu Hong dike from pier T0 to pier T3. It has structure of continuous girders constructed with cantilever casting method with span outline (55+90+55)m, bridge length L=200m. The cross section has breadth B=39.75m including 2 modules, of which the left module has breadth B=22.5m and the right module has breadth B=15.75m. The distance between two modules is 1.5m.

The approach bridge in Gia Lam district and Van Giang district:

  • – Section from the main bridge over the Red River to Ta Hong dike: from pier T43 to pier T147 including 104 spans with span length from 39.1m to 45m, Super T girder structure. The typical cross section B=33.0m including 2 modules, each has breadth of 15.75m.
  • – Section over Ta Hong dike to bridge end: from pier T147 to pier T150, using cantilevered casting continuous span with span outline (65+100+65)m, bridge length L=230m. The typical cross section B=33.0m including 2 modules.

Ngoc Hoi bridge with the design of cable-stayed architecture combining with two H-shaped pylons symbolizing the harmonization and cooperation of Hanoi and Hung Yen, together with the idea “sun gate” – the place to welcome the dawn, Ngoc Hoi bridge will be an architectural highlight and one of the joint symbolic bridges of Hanoi and Hung Yen.

The Contract Signing Ceremony between the Project Management Board and the Joint Venture Contractor

The EPC Joint Venture for Ngoc Hoi bridge won the package No. 07/TP3-EPC: Design, material and equipment supply and works construction (including survey and BIM) with total value of more than 8,234 billion VND. VNCN Engineering Construction and Investment Joint Stock Corporation together with the Joint Venture has mobilized equipment and manpower to speed up the construction progress of the Project. When Ngoc Hoi bridge is completed, it will strengthen the regional connection between Hanoi and Hung Yen, contribute to improve the spiritual cultural life of the people. Ngoc Hoi bridge is a symbolic works, creating a premise for the development of ecotourism and enhancing the economic and cultural exchange.
