CONTRACT PACKAGE XL.03A MY THUAN 2 BRIDGE AND APPROACH ROADS AT BOTH SIDES CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Contract Package XL.03A: (Km 106+013.500 – Km 106+663.500) Construction of bored piles and foundation of piers for cable-stayed main span from Pier T14 to Pier T17 (including waterway safety control during the implementation)

      The My Thuan 2 Bridge and approach roads at both sides construction project is a major transport project which will help complete the transport network connecting completed and under-construction main roads in the region, easing the burden on current My Thuan Bridge and National Highway No. 1. When it is completed, My Thuan 2 Bridge will link Trung Luong – My Thuan expressway and My Thuan – Can Tho expressway to complete the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho City.

VNCN Engineering Construction and Investment Joint Stock Corporation (VNCN E&C), Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No. 1 (CIENCO 1) and Trung Nam Construction & Engineering Corporation (TRUNG NAM E&C) formed a joint venture to participate in the bid for Contract Package XL.03A and will implement this package including main items as follows:

  •   • Construction of bored piles D2.5m: 60 piles in total (26 piles of Pylon T15 have the length of 115m, 26 piles of Pylon T16 have the length of 110m, 4 piles of anchorage Pier T14 have the length of 75m and 4 piles of anchorage Pier T17 have the length of 70m).
  •   • Testing the pile bearing capacity using the self-balanced testing method (Osterberg test): To be carried out for 4 piles at 2 pylons and 2 anchorage piers.
  •   • Construction of pier foundations: Construction of foundations of 2 pylons with dimensions of 65.3mx17.5mx5m and 2 anchorage piers with dimensions of 24.25m x5.0m x3.5m.

      My Thuan 2 Bridge is 350m far from the existing My Thuan Bridge towards the upstream. The main bridge crossing over the Tien River locates on a straight alignment. The bridge will link the provinces of Tien Giang and Vinh Long, from Cai Be district in Tien Giang province to Vinh Long city. The bridge is constructed in accordance with the scale in the complete phase with the breadth between the outer edge of the railings of Bbridge=25m. In which, in phase 1 the bridge will be divided into 4 traffic lanes. In the complete phase, the transport will be reorganized to ensure the scale of 6 traffic lanes. The total length of My Thuan 2 Bridge up to the abutments is 1.906km. The main bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with pre-stressed reinforced concrete girders. Its main span length is 350m and approach spans are 150m each. The arrangement of main bridge of My Thuan 2 Bridge is the same with the current My Thuan Bridge. The pylons are in diamond shape, made of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed reinforced concrete. Each pylon is placed on a bored pile foundation including 26 piles having diameter of 2.5m. The anchorage piers are constructed of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed reinforced concrete. Each anchorage pier is placed on a bored pile foundation including 4 piles having diameter of 2.5m.

      With a team of experienced engineers and skillful workers, together with the application of advanced and modern construction technologies which have been implemented for Cao Lanh Bridge, Nhat Tan Bridge, Thanh Tri Bridge and Bai Chay Bridge, etc. VNCN E&C strongly believes that we will gain the trust of the Employer – Project Management Unit No. 7 (Ministry of Transport), successfully perform the project, contribute to the development of Ho Chi Minh City – Can Tho route, and create a momentum for the socio-economic growth of two provinces of Tien Giang and Vinh Long.

VNCN E&C will promote our technical capacity, project management experience and financial resources for performing the construction ensuring requirements for aesthetics, technical matters, economics, labor safety and environmental hygiene, handing over the works on schedule, struggling for achieving the dual objectives of the Government of: “Economic development and effective fight of pandemic”.
