My Thuan – Can Tho expressway is approximately 23 kilometers long. The Project has the total investment of VND 4,800 billion with the Ministry of Transport is the Employer and Cuu Long Corporation for Investment Development and Project Management of Infrastructure (My Thuan Project Management Unit now) is the project management entity. The Project, phase 1 will be substantially completed in 2022 and put into operation in 2023.
Outline of the entire My Thuan – Can Tho Expressway
The Joint Venture of VNCN E&C – Nhac Son – 319 MOD was awarded contract package XL-01: Construction of Km107+363.08 – Km113+500 Section (inclusive of survey and shop-drawing design) to be implemented in 24 months.
Package XL-01: Km107+363.08 – Km113+500 has a total length of about 6.137 kilometers. It starts at Km107+636.08 in Tan Hoa commune, Vinh Long city, Vinh Long province, connecting with My Thuan 2 bridge. The ending point of the route is at Km113+500 in An Phu Thuan commune, Chau Thanh district, Dong Thap province.
Scale and technical specifications of main works of Package XL-01, My Thuan – Can Tho Expressway Project, phase 1 are as below:
* Construction of expressway:
– The total length of the expressway is L = 6.137 Km. The design velocity is V = 80Km/h.
– The Project, phase 1 is invested with 4 motorized lanes while in the complete phase there will be 6 motorized lanes.
– The cross section in phase 1 is B = 17m; The width of bridges on the main route is B = 17.5m.
– Improving and expanding the NH80 intersection to have the embankment breadth of B = 20.5m and pavement breadth of B = 19.5m
– Road embankment: cut and fill, some sections to have stone excavation and blasting.
– Construction of frontage roads (B=3.5m), residential underpass, drainage system, traffic safety system, etc.
– Pavement structure: Highway type A1, Erequired ≥ 180Mpa.
* Construction of bridges:
– Construction of 6 bridges on the route, 01 overpass (An Phu Thuan overpass) and 01 bridge of NH80 interchange.
– Substructure: Bored piles, D600 concrete piles, shallow foundation, U-shape abutment, solid piers.
– Superstructure: I-shape and Super-T prestressed RC girders with length subject to the location of the bridges.
VNCN E&C will implement all bridge works of the Package, including Tap Doan 13 bridge, Nha Dai bridge, Rach Lam bridge, Xeo Vang bridge, Rach Ap bridge, Xeo Trau bridge, Cai Doi bridge and An Phu Thuan overpass, and construct such traffic safety works as hard median strip, anti-glare fence and traffic signal of the route.
