In the morning of December 31st, 2022, the Ministry of Transport in coordination with People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province and People’s Committee of Thua Thien – Hue Province organized the Inauguration and Traffic Opening Ceremony of Cam Lo – La Son Expressway.
Cam Lo – La Son Expressway is one component of the Eastern North – South Expressway Project. The total investment of the project component is VND 7,700 billion. The Cam Lo – La Son section is 98.3 kilometers in length. The beginning point of the section is on National Highway No. 9 in Cam Hieu commune, Cam Lo disitrct, Quang Tri province; The ending point of the section is in Loc Son commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien – Hue province. The entire route includes 33 bridges on the alignment, 16 crossing flyovers, 5 interchanges (NH9, NH15D, PR9B and PR11B, NH49 and NH1 bypassing Hue City, and PR14B). In the first phase, the expressway has 2 traffic lanes with cross-section of 12m, the roadbed width is 23.25m; Overtaking sections have 4 traffic lanes, the roadbed width is 23.25m. In the completed phase after 2030, the road will have 4 traffic lanes and the roadbed width is 23.25m.
VNCN E&C is a member of the Joint Venture Contractor (Van Cuong – Dinh An – VNCN E&C – Thai Yen – Kcon) for Package XL8: Civil works and survey, design of shop-drawings for section Km69+000 – Km78+000 (including bridges: Bridge No. 4, Tu Ca, Bridge No. 5, Tam Vinh, Khe Nuoc and Khe Ly) of Cam Lo – La Son project component.
Cam Lo – La Son expressway which has been inaugurated and put into operation will connect with being used La Son – Tuy Loan expressway (Thua Thien Hue – Da Nang) of 77.5 km in length creating an expressway of more than 175 km in length, connecting with being used Da Nang – Quang Ngai expressway and Van Ninh – Cam Lo expressway (to be constructed in a short time), creating a driving force axis for the Central region, helping peoples in the region travel more conveniently, reducing the traffic pressure on NH1A, contributing to the socio-economic development of the local provinces and the Central region.
