Cam Lo – La Son Expressway Section Construction Investment Subproject has a total investment of VND 7,669 billion with a length of 98 km. The project has the Ministry of Transport as the Employer and Ho Chi Minh Highway Project Management Unit as the Procuring Entity. The project is divided into 28 packages, of which 11 are civil works ones.
Van Cuong – Dinh An – VNCN E&C – Thai Yen – DACINCO Joint Venture was awarded Contract Package XL8: Construction and investigation, design of shop drawings for Km69+00 – Km78+000 Section including bridges: Bridge No. 4 (Cau So 4), Tu Ca, Bridge No. 5 (Cau So 5), Tam Vinh, Khe Nuoc and Khe Ly. The successful bid price is VND 945 billion. The Package will be carried out in 24 months. Major works to be implemented in the Package are as follows:
* Construction of expressway:
- • Total length: L = 9Km. Design velocity: Vdesign = 80Km/h.
- • Cross section in phase 1: Bembankment = 12m; in complete phase: Bembankment = 23m.
- • Pavement structure: Highway grade A1, Erequired ≥ 180Mpa.
- • Embankment: Cut and fill, soft soil treatment (L=1.845m) using sand piles/PVDs.
- • Construction of Hue City Bypass.
- • Construction of frontage roads (B=3.5m); underpasses (06 locations), drainage system, slope consolidation, traffic safety system, etc.
* Construction of bridge:
- • Construction of 6 bridges on the route: Bridge No. 4 (Cau So 4), Tu Ca, Bridge No. 5 (Cau So 5), Tam Vinh, Khe Nuoc and Khe Ly.
- • Substructure: Bored piles, RC piles, shallow footing.
- • Superstructure: Slab girders, I beams and Super-T beams.

VNCN Engineering Construction and Investment Joint Stock Corporation (VNCN E&C) has mobilized sufficiently equipment and manpower, together with other members of the Joint Venture to speed up the construction progress of the project ensuring safety at site and the quality of works. Cam Lo – La Son expressway when completed will help reduce the traffic volume on National Highway No. 1A, create favorable conditions for the development of the transport infrastructure in the Central Region as well as the Vietnam road network in general, be a drive for the economic growth in the provinces of Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue and Da Nang.
