CAO LANH BRIDGE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC

Morning of May 27^th, 2018, in Thinh Thoi commune – Cao Lanh city – Dong Thap province, the Ministry of Transport has hold the traffic opening ceremony of Cao Lanh Bridge and it’s inter-connecting roads between Cao Lanh Bridge & Cam Vong Bridge as part of Central Mekong Delta Region Connectivity Project.

Cao Lanh Bridge Project is funded with non-refundable aid of the Australian government, credits of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and counter capital of the Vietnamese Government. The Project’s investor, Cuu Long Corporation for Investment Development and Project Management of Infrastructure (Cuu Long CIPM), awarded Chinese Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) & Vinaconex Engineering Construction & Investment JSC Joint venture (CRBC – Vinaconex E&C JV) to be the Contractor for “Package CW1B: Cao Lanh Bridge and 200 approach road (Km03+800-Km06+200)”, with total contract value of 3,307 billion VND.

Dong Thap’s Cao Lanh Bridge Project marked Vinaconex  E&C’s first large scale project in Mekong Delta. The Cao Lanh Cable-Stayed Bridge with a double-plane of cables has a central span of 350m and a maximum height above high water level of 37.5m, H –shape towers 123.4 meters high, solid anchor posts reinforced by pre-stressed cables.  Main Bridge piers are put on a bored pile system with D=2.5m and length from 85 to 120 meters. Main girders are executed in balanced cantilever method. CRBC – Vinaconex E&C JV has applied a wide range science, technology and fine arts in building and managing the project. Today success came from millions hours of hard work and great focus on safety, quality & schedule of our engineers, staffs and workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister – Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung highlighted the role of Mekong Delta in Vietnam overall social-economic development. Investment in modern, synchronous infrastructure structure is essential in order to boost potential of Mekong Delta and its sustainable development. The Cao Lanh Bridge and inter-connecting roads between Cao Lanh Bridge and Cam Vong Bridge is a connectivity project of Central Mekong Delta Region. Cao Lanh Bridge being put in use shall off-load Highway No.1 and form a Western highway line from Ho Chi Minh City to Kien Giang province in recent time.
