Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet Expressway Section under the Eastern North – South Expressway Construction Investment Project for the 2017 – 2020 period has the total length of 100.82km, passes through 4 districts in Binh Thuan province. This Section starts at Km134 in Vinh Hao commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province. The section is planned to have 6 motorized lanes with the breadth of 22.5m; In phase 1, it will have 4 motorized lanes with the breadth of 17m and maximum velocity of 80km/h. On the route, there will have 5 interchanges including Vinh Hao interchange connecting the expressway with National Highway 1; Cho Lau interchange (National Highway 1 – Phan Son); Dai Ninh interchange (National Highway 28B); Ma Lam interchange (National Highway 28); and Phan Thiet interchange (National Highway 1 – My Thanh); and 2.8km of roads connecting with National Highway 1 in Vinh Hao commune, Tuy Phong district, to be constructed in accordance with standards for plain road class III.
Plan of Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet Expressway Section
Package XL04: Km 185+400 -:- Km 235+000 has the total length of approximately 49.6Km. This route starts at Km185+400 in Song Luy commune, Bac Binh district, borders section Km168 -:- Km185+400. It ends at Km235+00 connecting with NH1 to My Thanh at Km2+500 in Ham Kiem commune, Ham Thuan Nam district (coinciding with the start point of Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway Project Component).
The Joint Venture of VINACONEX – VNCN E&C was selected to implement Package XL04: Civil works, survey and design of shop drawings with the bid price of over VND 3,200 billion in 24 months.
Scale and technical specifications of main project works are as below:
* Construction of expressway:
– Total length of expressway: L = 49.6Km. Design velocity: Vdesign = 80Km/h.
– The route will have 4 motorized lanes in phase 1 and 6 motorized lanes in the completion phase.
– Cross section in phase 1: Bembankement = 17m; Cross section in completion phase: Bembankement = 32.25m.
– Pavement structure: Highway type A1, Erequired ≥ 200Mpa.
– Embankment: Cut and fill; some sections will have rock excavation and/or drilling and blasting.
– Construction of two interchanges: Ma Lam interchange and Phan Thiet interchange.
– Construction of frontage roads (B=3.5m); underpasses, drainage system, slope consolidation, traffic safety system, etc.
* Construction of bridges:
– Construction of 15 bridges on the route, 12 flyovers and 2 interchanges.
– Substructure: Bored piles, shallow foundation, U-shape abutments, solid piers
– Superstructure: Slab girders, I-shape girder, and pre-tensioned or post-tensioned RC Super-T girders. The length of girders depends on the location of bridges.
Right after the Project Management Unit 7 held the groundbreaking ceremony on November 04th, 2020, VNCN Engineering Construction and Investment Joint Stock Corporation organized the project management board for the Package in Phan Thiet City, established the quality management process in compliance with the project requirements, arranged construction teams, and mobilized sufficient equipment and manpower for launching the works in order to meet the quality and schedule requirements of the project.
